And the awards go to...

Finally, after six months of assemblies, lessons, workshops, events and a lot of help from B&NES school teachers, we can announce the four winners of the Fashion & Fairytale sustainable fashion competition!

Our creative director Cindy Beadman, and our industry judges, Andy Jackson, Rachel P Blake and Emma Reichenbach had an incredibly tough job to whittle down the four winning designs from the 300 entries from school children and individual young people across the county and we have been blown away by their careful consideration of the planet, drawing and design skills and boundless enthusiasm for our project.

To enter into the final, designers had to demonstrate that they had met the competition brief and fulfilled four criteria:

sustainability

determination

imagination

craftsmanship

The judges reviewed the designs on four occasions to ensure that they were all happy with their decisions and feedback from the judges and fabulous prizes will be presented to the runners up and winners at their school assemblies over the course of the next few weeks.

So without further ado, we are delighted to announce the four runners up are:

KS1 - Imogen Ball

KS2 - Mabel Dale Pearce

KS3 - Charlotte Fletcher

KS4 - Eloise Evans

And the four worthy winners are:

KS1: Bethany Trowmans

KS2: Edith Holladay

KS3: Catherine Cook

KS4: Mayu Ishimoto

We are sure you will agree that their attention to detail and boundless creativity is well deserving of their winner status and we are incredibly grateful to our partners for generously donated the following prizes:

KS1 & KS2: My Small World Toys goody bag, The Makery craft kit, Wiltshire Scrapstore leather workshop.

KS3: The Makery craft kit, Wiltshire Scrapstore leather workshop & The Sewing Studio state of the art sewing machine.

KS4: The Makery craft kit, Wiltshire Scrapstore leather workshop, VV Rouleaux millinery workshop & Square Bath work experience.

Runners up will all receive goodies from our fabulous sponsor Pure Planet.

We are still eager to work with local sewers and pattern cutters to support the next steps of our project; the manufacture of the designs in advance of their premiere at our Gala Fashion Show & Auction (in aid of Mentoring Plus) at the Assembly Rooms, Bath on the 9th July and at the Fashion & Fairytale Exhibition on the 3rd-5th August.

If you are keen to support our project in this and any other way, please get in touch.
